Senior Prep Notices Friday 9 June 2017

Youth Day: South Africa celebrates Youth Day on Friday 16 June, which is a public holiday. We wish all our families a relaxing long weekend.

Civvies Day: There will be a civvies day on Thursday, 15 June  2017. The cost is R5. All proceeds will be going towards Outreach.

Cake and Candy Sale: The Cake and Candy will take place at second break on the Friday, 23 June 2017. The Grade 7 children will be making delicious goodies to sell. Please remember to bring your money and support them. Goodies will cost between R5 and R8.

Midterm Break Tennis: Looking for an activity to enjoy during the midterm break? Come have fun at our Grayston Tennis Clinic.

Time: 10h00 to 12h00

Cost: R100 per day or

          R400 for four days (For your convenience these fees will be billed to your Grayston account.)

Grayston Prep CEO Sleepout: The Grade Seven children are taking part in the CEO School Sympathy Sleep-out on Thursday, 15 June. The Sleep-out will start at 18h00 on Thursday and end at 06h00 on Friday, 16 June. The aim of the evening is to experience a night in the life of a homeless person. Through this initiative, we will be donating baby products to the Refilwe Community Project, which is a beneficiary for this year’s event. If you would like to donate any items, please feel free to drop them off in the hall foyer before Thursday, 15 June. Examples of items include the nappies, baby food, formula, blankets, towels, baby safe toys, clothes, etc.

Magic of Music: Grayston Preparatory School will once again host the annual Magic of Music charity event at the Linder Auditorium which is located at the Wits School of Education Campus in Parktown. This annual celebration of music has been a Grayston Prep initiative since 1996. This year’s Magic of Music will take place on Wednesday, 21 June and Thursday, 22 June. The concert will begin promptly at 18h00 each evening and end at approximately 20h30. Grayston Prep School will perform on the evening of Wednesday, 21 June. We have some of our Grade Seven children taking charge of the proceedings on both evenings.

Grade Six and Seven Awards: The awards will be presented in assembly on Friday, 23 June. The aim of the awards is to recognise the efforts and achievements of the Grade Six and Seven children in various areas of their school life. Parents are invited to attend.

Reports: Parents are reminded that reports will be distributed on Friday, 23 June. There will be an opportunity for parents to meet with the teachers during the Consultation Evening on Wednesday, 12 July. More details about the Consultation Evening will be provided after the midterm break.    

Grayston Carnival: It’s carnival time again on Saturday, 08 July. Please join us for a fantastic, fun day out for the whole family! There will be Interhouse football and netball, lots of yummy food, drinks and hot coffee. Armbands will be on sale from the Grayston Cafe on Monday, 12 June for R120.00.
