Emma Sadleir Talk: Do you know what your child is doing or might get up to on the social media platforms? Emma Sadleir is a social media lawyer, specialising on the legal, disciplinary and reputational risks of social media. She will give a talk to Grayston Prep parents on Wednesday, 13 September at 18:00 in the hall. Please diarise this date. We invite all parents (Grades 000-7) to please attend this enlightening talk which will leave you mesmerised. Emma Sadleir will also speak to our pupils (Grades 4-7) on Thursday 14 September.

First Additional Language Choice: Grade 4 pupils will have to select their first additional language at the end of the year for the final three years of their preparatory school education. Mr Kunene and Mrs McKay will host an informal question and answer session on Wednesday, 2 August at 07:30 in the hall. They will answer questions, address concerns and give general advice based on previous experience of Grayston pupils. Grade 4 parents are urged to attend, and other parents can also attend if they wish to do so.

Project Based Learning Week: Project Based Learning (PBL) begins on Monday, 24 July. This year we have decided to focus our attention on Fables relating to South African Animals. The week will be split into two projects that the children will be involved in; a class play and a project (Digital Story, Animation or poster related to the play or animal).

The Grade 7 children have been allocated across the Senior Prep and will be writing a short play based on a collection of fables for each animal and then assisting the class, produce their class play.

The children will be involved in developing props, sound effects, lighting  and backstage for the class play for the week and the house plays will be presented on Monday, 31 July (Grade 4 & 5) and Tuesday, 1 August (Grade 6 & 7). Both evenings productions will start at 18:00 in the school hall.

We are sure the children will learn a lot about their particular animal and the production of a play.

Head’s Coffee Morning: Parents are invited to join Mrs Ché McKay on Wednesday 26 July at 07:15 in the school hall to hear about the changes to the awards policy for 2018 and the motivation behind this change. Please email for catering purposes should you wish to attend this function.
