dsc_0466BYOD Information Talk for Grade 5 2017: Grayston Prep implemented a Bring Your Own Device Programme using iPads in 2016 for the Grade 5 – 7 students. The feedback has been mostly positive and we will be continuing to use iPads as a tool to augment teaching and learning next year. For the Grade 4 children going into Grade 5 this means that they will need to bring an iPad with them to use during their school day next year. Mike Atkinson will be doing a presentation to provide more information and answer any questions you may have regarding the BYOD Programme and the use of iPads in the classroom.

Please would you join us on the 6 October 2016 at either 07h00 – 08h00 or 19h00 – 20h00 in the hall.

Movie Night and Camp Out: The Parents Association will be hosting a movie night and Camp Out on Saturday 15 October. The day will consist of the traditional camp out on the top field and a big screen movie. The movie for the evening is “Finding Dory”. We request that parents bring a picnic type meal and enjoy the evening watching the movie on the field with their family and friends, and then a night of camping should they wish to. Camping is entirely voluntary. The cost for the movie night and camp out is R30 per person. Tickets for the evening are on sale at the Grayston Cafe. Please note that no braais or gas fires will be allowed. Boerewors rolls, popcorn and soft drinks will be on sale as part of the Grade 7 fundraising effort. Parking for those who are camping will be available on the bottom fields from 14:30 on the day. Campers are welcome to unpack theirs vehicles on the top field before moving to the designated parking area on the bottom field. No vehicles will be allowed on the top field after 15:30. We look forward to enjoying the afternoon and evening together.

Grade 7 Outreach Tops and tags: The bottle tops and bread tags is an on-going collection.  Please continue to collect and drop them off at school.  There will be collection boxes at the Pavilion and in the JP building.

Grayston’s Got Talent: Congratulations to all the participants who performed on Friday night. The evening was a great success and Grayston certainly has talented learners that walk among us.  From karate, to dance, singing, juggling and playing a range of musical instruments, everyone contributed to a successful show. Many thanks to the community that supported the evening.
