Care Bears

Derby Day: The Annual Grayston Preparatory School Derby Day will be held tomorrow Saturday, 25 June 2016 and events get underway from 8:00am. There will be a variety of food and refreshments on sale and families are most welcome to come and support the sports teams. Children participating in the events must be at school by 7:30am.

Outreach Committee: Please start collecting plastic bottle tops and bread tags in your home.  The bottle tops can be any size and any colour. There will be a “post box” in the pavilion. Let’s see how many we can collect and give back to people in need.

Exeat Weekend: School closes at the normal time on Friday, 1 July and reopens on Monday, 11 July. We trust that you will enjoy a relaxing mid-term break.

Mandela Day: Outreach will be collecting blankets and books on Mandela Day. Start clearing out your bookshelves and bring along new or second hand books.  Bring in new or loved blankets. There will also be Banablankets on sale in the pavilion. These blankets are made by an organization in Alexandra Township, by unemployed women. There will be different sizes available and you were welcome to purchase a blanket and donate it towards our Diepsloot initiative.

Green Bean Team: Try to be water-wise in your homes. We have come up with some tips to help you in the kitchen this week.

Congratulations: Congratulations to ex-Graystonian, Kate Christowitz, who has been selected to row for South Africa in the Rio Olympics. Kate started rowing in 2004 for St Mary’s where she discovered her talent and passion for the sport. We are very proud of her!
