Mandela Day Preparations

Spring Social: A reminder that the Grade 5 – 7 children are invited to attend the Spring Social on Saturday 17 September. The dance is from 6:00 – 9:00pm.  Please fetch your children promptly at the end of the dance.  The children may bring extra money for glow sticks, candy floss and extra drinks. A reminder that no cell phones are allowed.

Grayston’s Got Talent – 23 September 6.30 – 8.30pm: Tickets are on sale in the Pavilion before school every day next week from 7:00am. The cost of the tickets are R20.00 and the seats are unreserved. Come along and enjoy the show. The Grayston children are so talented!

Movie Night and Camp Out: The Parents Association will be hosting a movie night and Camp Out on Saturday 15 October. The day will consist of the traditional camp out on the top field and a big screen movie. The movie for the evening is “Finding Dory”. We request that parents bring a picnic type meal and enjoy the evening watching the movie on the field with their family and friends, and then a night of camping should they wish to. Camping is entirely voluntary. The cost for the movie night and camp out is R30 per person. Tickets for the evening will go on sale at the tuckshop from Monday, 19 September 2016. Please note that no braais or gas fires will be allowed. Boerewors rolls, popcorn and soft drinks will be on sale as part of the Grade 7 fundraising effort. Parking for those who are camping will be available on the bottom fields from 14:30 on the day. Campers are welcome to unpack theirs vehicles on the top field before moving to the designated parking area on the bottom field. No vehicles will be allowed on the top field after 15:30. We look forward to enjoying the afternoon and evening together.

Grade 7 Flip Flop Sale: The Grade 7’s will be selling “Design or own Flip Flops” over the next two weeks. The cost of the sandals are R100 and you can create your own designs.  Get hold of a Grade 7 to fill in a form or get a copy from the uniform shop. It’s hip to wears slops!

Swoosh: Offers a programme for all primary school netball players who wish to play netball all year round.  This is a unique opportunity to be coached enthusiastic and skilled coaches, make a lot of new friends and receive individual skills training. You can join the programme at any stage of the year and for any period of time. Holiday clinics are also available. Our aim is to bring back the “fun” in netball and equip players with netball skills, such as ball handling, passing, catching, hand eye coordination and goal shooting skills. We embrace netball as a culture and a way of healthy living, and introduce a gentle element of competition. Term 3 Swoosh starts at Grayston Prep, next Saturday, 17h of September 2016. King Edward VII School: “Expression of interest” forms for all Gr. 6 boys who are interested in attending KES in 2018, are now available on the KES website. The request from the school is for all who are interested in attending King Edward the VII school to complete an application form so that they can be added onto their data base. Grade 7 Outreach Tops and tags: The bottle tops and bread tags is an on-going collection.  Please continue to collect and drop them off at school.  There will be collection boxes at the Pavilion and in the JP building.

Chilloes (Slip Slops): The last day to hand in your forms for your Chilloes order is Friday the 23 September for the Junior Prep children.  Please hand in your forms to your class teacher or at the uniform shop.
