Pre-Prep Notices Friday 21 July 2017

Grade 000

  • The children will continue their exploration of Into the Wild next week.
  • We did ‘free baking’ this week. The children used a variety of leftover ingredients to create their own concoctions and develop their cognitive thought processes.
  • Vishay Naidoo will be our baker for Cookie Day on Tuesday, 25 July.

Grade 00

  • We are looking forward to starting our investigation of Dinosaurs next week.
  • We did ‘free baking’ this week. The children used a variety of leftover ingredients to create their own concoctions and develop their cognitive thought processes.

Grade R

 

  • The children will continue their journey into Space next week.
  • We learnt how to use cookie cutters during baking and practised this skill on play dough.

 

Head’s Coffee Morning: Parents are invited to join Mrs Ché McKay on Wednesday, 26 July at 07:15 in the school hall to hear about the changes to the awards policy for 2018 and the motivation behind this change. Please email nicolel@graystonprep.co.za for catering purposes should you wish to attend this function.

Library: All library books must please be returned by Friday, 21 July.

Emma Sadleir Talk: Do you know what your child is doing or might get up to on the social media platforms? Emma Sadleir is a social media lawyer, specialising on the legal, disciplinary and reputational risks of social media. She will give a talk to Grayston Prep parents on Wednesday, 13 September at 18:00 in the hall. Please diarise this date. We invite all parents (Grades 000-7) to please attend this enlightening talk which will leave you mesmerised. Emma Sadleir will also speak to our pupils (Grades 4-7) on Thursday 14 September.
