Pre Prep Notices 3 February 2017

group-kids-having-fun-cartoon-35468813General: Urgent Appeal

  • Please ensure that everything is marked with your child’s name. This includes shoes, socks, underwear, umbrellas and raincoats.
  • Please return all medical forms if you have not already done so.

Happy Birthday

  • We wish all our January and February babies a happy birthday and thank them for their donations of books to the school library.

Care Bears and Cubs

  • Each of the Grade Seven children at Grayston becomes a Care Bear to one or two of their younger counterparts in Grade 00 or Grade R. They visit and mentor their little ‘cubs’ and spend time making special memories. The Care Bears and Cubs had their first get-together this morning and, after introducing themselves, went off to have some bubble fun on the big field. Your little ones will be bringing home a pictorial introduction from their Care Bears and it would be great if you could encourage them to tell you about their Care Bears and the morning’s excitement.

Baking: Once a week, all the children visit the Pre Prep kitchen and learn a skill in order to ‘bake’ something. From now on, we will publish the weekly ‘recipe’ so that you can share in their learning and perhaps allow them to demonstrate this to you at home.

Grade 000

  • The Grade 000 children have been exploring the use of glue sticks and scissors. The expressions of concentration on these little faces has been a joy to behold!
  • The theme for next week is This is Me.
  • Please send a painting shirt if you have not yet done so.
  • Our first Cookie Day for the year is on Monday, 6 February and the baker is Mikayla Bailey.

Grade 00

  • The Grade 00 children have been learning about making ‘good choices’ and what constitutes a ‘bad choice’.
  • The theme for next week is Me, My Family and My Home.
  • The bakers for Cookie Day on Monday, 6 February are Amy Crosby and Oluwaseyi Adenigba.
  • Recipe of the week: Banana Cereal Snacks. Please click here to view.

Grade R

  • The Grade R children thoroughly enjoyed learning about our school and are now engrossed in sharing information about themselves and exploring what their bodies do.
  • Our theme next week is Me and My Body.
  • Next week we will focus on the letter Cc. Please encourage the children to bring objects or pictures to school of things containing this letter.
  • Remember to return library books on or before the class library day.
  • Thank you to the children who supplied the delicious treats on Monday. The bakers for Monday, 6 February are Emeric Belrose, Caden Blakeney and Matthew Crerar.
  • Grade RA and Grade RB are still in need of parents to assist with library duty and the weekly ‘puzzles and games’ sessions. Please let the teacher know if you are able to help.
  • The girls swim on Day 1 and the boys on Day 5. You can identify these days on the school calendar but, to make things easier, we suggest that you just pack your child’s swimming kit every day.
  • The children will be bringing a questionnaire home on Monday, 6 February and we ask that you complete it in consultation with them and return it to school by Friday, 10 February.
  • Do check the message pocket in your child’s classroom.
  • Brenda Yarramashu has lost her Grayston tracksuit top. Please return it if you find it.
  • Recipe of the week: Caterpillar Fruit Snack. Please click here to view.
