Thinking Week: Is a series of five, one-day workshops that, if taken together, provide an introduction to both the concept of the ‘Thinking School,’ and the essential elements within it. Each of the workshops also stands alone. A ‘Thinking School’ is one within which the further development of a student’s capacities as an independent, self-managing and reflective learner drive both teaching and pedagogy. Parents and teachers are invited to attend. Teresa Williams an International Thinking Schools Facilitator will be our guest speaker. Grade 000

  • The theme, People Who Help Us, will continue next week.
  • The children are enjoying the sensory bin in the classroom immensely. A particular favourite is the tub of jelly balls!
  • They created patterned fruit kebabs during baking this week. Perhaps they could repeat the activity with you at home and show you what they did.

Grade 00

  • The Grade 00 classes are looking forward to investigating a myriad of sea creatures during next week’s theme of Under The Sea.
  • They created patterned fruit kebabs during baking this week. Perhaps they could use a variety of fruits and explain what they did at home. Please click here for the recipe.

Grade R

  • The Grade R children are busy revising the letters Aa to Gg.
  • They will be involved in a research project during their theme, People Who Help Us,  discovering information about a variety of occupations.
  • During baking this week, the children learned how to roll dough.
Give the child a lump of dough to knead, stretch and manipulate. Then practice rolling the dough into a sausage while holding the rolling pin with both hands.
