Pre Prep Notices 1 April 2016

DSC_0152Themes: Next week’s themes are The Circus (Grade 000), Let’s Go Shopping (Grade 00) and People Who Help Us (Grade R).

Specialist Open Morning: Thank you to all those parents who were able to join us on Thursday for this event. Your children loved having you at school and we hope that you enjoyed the morning.

Grandparents’ Tea Party: There is great excitement as we prepare for the Grandparents’ Tea Party next Friday, 8 April. Guests should please be seated in the John Sounes Hall by 10:20. It should be noted that the PrePrep children will be seated on stands on the hall floor and not the stage and so we suggest that guests sit upstairs in the gallery to have a better view of our little ones. The programme will commence at 10:30 after which the children will entertain their guests to tea in various venues around the school. Children may go home with their guests should you wish them to do so. Alternatively, they should be collected at 12:00 when school closes for the holidays.

Happy birthday: We wish all our March and April ‘babies’ a very happy birthday and thank them for their donation of books to the library.

Volunteers needed: We are dependent on the support of mums and dads who are able to assist us in the following ways during the Winter Term. Please add your names to the various lists if you are able to spare the time.

  • The Grade R classes need help to ‘man’ the weekly library and ‘puzzles and games’ sessions. The rosters are to be found on a clipboard with the ‘sign-out’ sheets.
  • The Grade 00 classes need help to ‘man’ the weekly ‘puzzles and games’ sessions. The rosters are to be found in the classrooms.

Grade R Help: We will be introducing the letter Jj next week and remind children to bring pictures or objects to school that have the letter in their names. Please also practice forming and naming the letters Aa to Ii at home. Please encourage your children to identify the numerals 0 to 10 in the environment – street numbers, price tags, number plates.

Cookie Day: Our bakers for Monday, 4 April are Emma Gotthardt, Jessica Garden, Katie Crosby, Teyana Kuni, Suhail Ismail and Neil Dunstan.

April Holiday Clinics: Please click here for more information on the holiday clinics offered for the April Holidays.

April Holiday Care: 14 countries in 16 days from Monday, 11 April 2016 till Friday, 29 April 2016. RSVP slips will be sent home. Attendance for the option 1 aftercare kids is free. R180 per day for all the other Grayston children. Click here for more information.
