Junior Prep Notices 5 May 2017

Winter Term: We welcome you back to the Winter Term of 2017. The children all seem to have had a wonderful holiday and have certainly sprung up in the last few weeks!

Sport: Team lists and Co-curricular activities can be found on the Grayston Website under the “Our Sports Fixtures” tab or for your convenience please click here. As from next week Team lists will be published every Wednesday for the following week.

Golf Champs Junior Academy: If you would like your Son’s or Daughter’s to play golf this term, Please contact Dave Lewis on 082 731 8648 or dlewis002@gmail.com Golf Lessons are on Monday afternoons from 1.00pm.

SEESAW: We are very excited to inform you that we will be using a new app called SEESAW to share what your child is learning at school. The teachers will send home a personalised letter shortly with sign-up instructions that will enable you to access the class page and your child’s learning journal. Initially we will start by posting photographs and will gradually build up the individual journals.

Author Visit: Please remember that we will be hosting Refiloe Moahloli, author of How Many Ways Can You Say Hello?, on Tuesday, 16 May 2017 at 10:00. If you would like your child to have a personalised, signed copy of the book, please complete the order form that was sent home in hard copy and return it in a sealed envelope, together with the money, to the class teacher by no later than Monday, 8 May. The Grade Three children have until Thursday, 11 May to submit their orders.

Uniform: Please ensure that the children wear the correct winter uniform and accessories (scarves, beanies and gloves) which are all available from the Grayston Uniform Shop.

Sport Awards: Please note that the sport awards will be handed out on Friday, 12 May during assembly.

Football Matches: Please note that football matches will take place on Tuesday, 9 May. This change only affects the week mentioned only.

Lunch Box Outreach: Please pack an extra lunch for someone in need and bring it to school next Friday 12 May and these will be donated to children in need. The lunch pack should include a sandwich, fruit, juice and a simple treat. Please ensure that you use tupperware/lunchbox you are willing to donate. Pack it neatly and place it in the boxes in the hall foyer when you get to school.

Slipper Day: Friday, 12 May 2017 is Reach for a Dream Slipper Day. We would like to encourage each Grayston Prep child, and parent, to participate in Slipper Day by donating R10.00 for a Slipper Armband which allows the children to wear their slippers to school or wherever they would like to show off their furry footwear and support Reach For A Dream. Please hand your R10.00 to your class teacher by Wednesday, 10 May 2017.
