dsc_0420Interhouse Athletics: The Grade One and Two children will participate in their athletics event on Friday, 7 October at 07:45. Parents are most welcome to attend the event which will last for about an hour. Children should please wear their normal school shorts with their house shirts.

Expert Needed: The Grade Threes have embarked on ‘project based learning’. We are looking for somebody with a background in environmental management or something similar who would be able to address the children on taking care of the environment. If you know of any parent or friend who would be willing to give us some time to share his/her expertise on the subject, please contact one of the Grade Three teachers.

Grade Three Outings: Grade 3A and 3D will visit the Elephant Sanctuary on Tuesday, 4 October. Grade 3B and 3C will take their turn on Thursday, 6 October.

Meet the Authors: The Grade One, Two and Three children have been hard at work all year, writing and publishing a variety of books. They extend a cordial invitation to you to ‘meet the authors’ in their classrooms so that you can view their work from 11:15 until 12:00 on Thursday, 20 October. Entry is by ticket only at the nominal cost of R20 per family, payable in advance. All proceeds will go towards supporting the Kwena Basin Library Trust which is dedicated to providing an extensive library service to this community.

Movie Night and Camp Out: The Parents Association will be hosting a movie night and Camp Out on Saturday 15 October. The day will consist of the traditional camp out on the top field and a big screen movie. The movie for the evening is “Finding Dory”. We request that parents bring a picnic type meal and enjoy the evening watching the movie on the field with their family and friends, and then a night of camping should they wish to. Camping is entirely voluntary. The cost for the movie night and camp out is R30 per person. Tickets for the evening are on sale at the Grayston Cafe. Please note that no braais or gas fires will be allowed. Boerewors rolls, popcorn and soft drinks will be on sale as part of the Grade 7 fundraising effort. Parking for those who are camping will be available on the bottom fields from 14:30 on the day. Campers are welcome to unpack theirs vehicles on the top field before moving to the designated parking area on the bottom field. No vehicles will be allowed on the top field after 15:30. We look forward to enjoying the afternoon and evening together.
