Junior Prep Notices 26 May 2017

SEESAW: Don’t forget to sign-up for our new app called SEESAW so that you can share what your child is learning at school. It is very easy to use and can be accessed on you tablet, phone or computer.

Reading Mornings: We invite all parents to attend the reading morning applicable to your child in order to gain an understanding of the type of activities we use during our daily reading lessons. These games and activities are easily translated into the home and can be used to enhance your child’s reading progress in a fun, interactive way.

  • Grade Three – Monday 29 May 07:30 – 08:45
  • Grade Two – Tuesday 30 May 07:30 – 08:45
  • Grade One – Wednesday 31 May 07:30 – 08:45

Sport: The U9, U10 and U12 knockout games have been postponed to the 5 June 2017 due to King David Victory Park being closed for religious holidays.

Derby Day:  Safe the date for the Annual Grayston Preparatory School Derby Day will be held on Saturday, 10 June 2017. There will be a variety of food and refreshments on sale and families are most welcome to come and support the sports teams.

Grayston Carnival: It’s Carnival Time again on Saturday, 8 July 2017.  Please join us for a fantastic, fun day out for the whole family! There will be Interhouse football and netball, lots of yummy food, drinks and hot coffee. More information to follow. 

Grade One

  • Writing riddles and rules for giants has encouraged the children to think about what it must be like to be a giant.
  • The children are moving through the reading scheme and will be receiving their ‘yellow words’ at intervals during the next few weeks.

Grade Two

  • The children are busy with animal research tasks and writing paragraphs. They are enjoying finding information online using the computer.
  • Lost property is piling up in the Grade Two area. Please make sure that all items of clothing are labelled.

Grade Three: Out virtual journey around the world continues and the children are learning to select keywords from non-fiction texts and use these to write information in their own words.
