Junior Prep Notices 26 February 2016

Topsy Turvy Day: On Monday, 29 February 2016 we are going to turn things upside down. Teachers, you are going to come dressed as school children…so get your outfits ready! Children, you are going to come dressed as moms, dads or teachers. So go through your parents wardrobe – what would they wear to work?

Cost: R7.00. Let’s make this a day to remember!

Grandparents’ Tea Party: The invitations for this function will go out next week but please save the date of Friday, 8 April in the meanwhile.

World Book Day: We will celebrate this event on Friday, 4 March. The children will be entertained by the Hooked on Books show and will pay tribute to the famous children’s author, Julia Donaldson, in a variety of activities related to her books during the course of the day.

Grade One Appeal: The Grade Ones are in need of MANY CLEAN two-litre milk bottles. Please place these in the black bags on the covered verandah behind the Grade One classrooms. They also require egg boxes.

Grade Two Appeal: The Grade Two children are asked to collect empty tins for a project. Please ensure that these are clean and that all sharp edges have been removed.

Grade Three Appeal: The Grade Three children are asked to collect a variety of cardboard boxes of all shapes and sized no larger than a cereal box.

Progress Interviews: This term, we do not provide written reports but interview each set of parents to provide a comprehensive oral report on the progress of your children. These interviews will take place between Monday, 14 March and Thursday, 8 April. On Monday, 7 March each class teacher will display a schedule of her available appointment times so that you can book a time that is convenient for you. We look forward to meeting you.

Grayston Biathle School Challenge: The annual Biathle will take place on the Thursday before Easter.  The first event will be at 11.00 and the Grade 7 children will finish off the morning at 12.00. Please see the rules and the entry form attached. Children must be able to swim – although there will be lifeguards, noodles, boards and belts available. Entry forms together with the R70.00 must be sent to the class teacher. Any queries should be directed to Nicola Scriven (  Click here for more information.

Cake and Candy Sale: The Cake and Candy will take place at break on the 24 March 2016. The Grade 7 children will be making delicious goodies to sell on the day.  Please remember to bring your money and support them.  Bringing smaller denominations helps make the process go quicker. Goodies will cost between R5 and R8.

Outreach: Grayston collected over 1000 litres of water for Operation Hydrate. Many thanks to all the families that contributed to this worthy cause! Thank you so much for those of you that have donated pencil cases.  Please continue to bring them to school.
