DSC_0338Concert Ticket Reservations: Please remember to complete the ticket reservation form and post it in the Ticket Reservation Box in the school Reception area by no later than Thursday, 30 June. Please do not attach money to these reservation forms. Booking of the seats that you have reserved will open on Tuesday, 12 July at 07:00 at Reception. At this stage, you will be able to select the actual seats that you want according to the reservations you have made and pay for them (R50 each). You will also be able to purchase any spare seats which are not needed by other families.

Concert Make-Up: We require the assistance of mums to apply creative make-up to some of the characters in Alice in Wonderland. This make-up is not complicated and teachers will be there to direct the operations. If you are able to volunteer your services, please complete the attached form and e-mail it to lyndaj@graystonprep.co.za by Friday, 1 July so that a roster can be drawn up.

Concert DVD: We will be having a professional DVD made of the concert at the Monday evening performance. Copies of this can be ordered at a cost of R150 each. If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please send the order form to your child’s class teacher by Friday, 5 August. Please do not send any money to school – your account will be debited with the required amount.

Exeat Weekend: School closes at the normal time on Friday, 1 July and reopens on Monday, 11 July. We trust that you will enjoy a relaxing mid-term break.

Winter Term Reports: The children will be bringing their Winter Term Reports home on Friday, 1 July. We  ask that you complete the reply slip and return it to school on Monday, 11 July to acknowledge receipt of your child’s report. Should you wish to discuss anything arising from the report, please contact the class teacher to make an appointment at a mutually convenient time.

Staff News: We would like to thank Mrs Gill O’Connor for taking care of Grade 2C so well for the month of June. We are quite sure that you have appreciated her commitment to the children! Ms Georgie Harris takes up her new position on Friday, 1 July. She will be available for a ‘meet and greet’ of parents between 07:00 and 07:30 and again between 13:20 and 13:45 on 1 July.

Afternoon Supervision: It has come to our attention that a number of children who attend privately organised co-curricular activities are not going to supervised homework while waiting for these activities to start. Please note that children who are on campus after school may be in one of four places – at supervised homework, at aftercare, participating in a co-curricular activity or in the care of their parents. They may NOT wait at the side of a field or court for an activity to begin.

Grade Two Appeal: The Grade Twos are collecting empty boxes of different 3D shapes for Maths. If you have any empty cereal or toothpaste boxes, toilet rolls, Pringle tins or similar, please send them along to the Grade Two classes by Friday, 1 July.

Congratulations: Congratulations to ex-Graystonian, Kate Christowitz, who has been selected to row for South Africa in the Rio Olympics. Kate started rowing in 2004 for St Mary’s where she discovered her talent and passion for the sport. We are very proud of her!
