News3

Grayston AGM: The Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, 27 May at 18:00. The School will report on the activities, achievements, financial performance and plans for 2016.

Junior Prep Maths Mornings: You are reminded about the forthcoming Maths Mornings which will take place as follows:

Grade One and Grade Three – Monday 1, Tuesday 2, Thursday 4 and Friday 5 June.

Grade Two – Friday 29 May; Thursday 4, Friday 5 and Tuesday 9 June.

Each set of parents is invited to attend ONE of the mornings in your child’s classroom for a period of one hour at the start of the day (07:35 to 08:35). We can only accommodate a small group of parents per class each day because of limited space and so we request that you book your session by adding your name to the list on the classroom window. The places are available on a first come, first served basis.

Assembly Change: Please note that the Grade 2G assembly will now take place on Wednesday, 27 May and the Grade 3J assembly on Wednesday, 3 June.

Lost Property: Erin Kihara in Grade 2G has lost his new tracksuit jacket.  It is clearly marked with his name. Niam Rama in Grade 3M has lost his new sleeveless winter jacket and a new pair of tracksuit pants, both of which are labelled. If your child has accidentally taken another child’s belongings, please return these to Reception at your earliest convenience.

Return time to school: Please note that we are unable to provide parents with a return time to Grayston for away matches. While we do our best to provide the order of play at away venues to give you an idea of timing as well as the number of rounds to be played, we cannot judge the traffic and this. together with loadshedding,  can result in serious delays. Sandton is often gridlocked. Please do not take your frustration out on the teachers in charge. If you are worried about your child, please contact Mrs Hyam on her cell phone (082-458-2946) and she will give you an estimated time of arrival. If you have any concerns or queries please send an email to nikkih@graystonprep.co.za.

Drama: Drama will be taken by Mrs Scriven in her classroom for the rest of the term. Times and days will remain the same.

Grayston Carnival:  The Grayston Carnival is one of our feature events of the year. The Carnival will be held on Saturday, 30 May 2015 and includes Inter-house Netball and Football for the children from Grade R to Grade 7. Please note that this netball and soccer tournament is compulsory for Grade 1 to Grade 7. If, for some reason, your child is not available on the day, please send an email to sport@graystonprep.co.za explaining why. The teams lists will need to be adjusted accordingly. For your convenience we have included the fixture programme and team lists on the school website.

The PA have worked tirelessly once again to include a variety of jumping castles, games and activities to add to the fun. There will be food stalls open around the fields. Please join us on the day to spend some time watching the children participate in the netball and football tournament and take the opportunity to meet new families and enjoy the activities on offer.
