DSC_0418Concert Tickets: If you have not yet collected your concert tickets, please do so as soon as possible. The concert dates are as follows; Monday 1 August 2016, Tuesday 2 August 2016 and Thursday 4 August 2016 at 18h30.

Concert DVD: We will be having a professional DVD made of the concert at the Monday evening performance. Copies of this can be ordered at a cost of R150 each. If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please send the order form to your child’s class teacher by Friday, 5 August. Please do not send any money to school – your account will be debited with the required amount.

Concert Arrangements: A letter detailing arrangements for the dress rehearsal and three performances will be sent home on Monday.

Library Books: To facilitate our stock-take, no library books will be issued after 13 July. Please return any library books that your children have at home by no later than Monday, 18 July 2016.

67 Minutes for Mandela: We encourage all Grayston families to support our Mandela Day drive. We ask that, leading up to 18 July, you spend 67 minutes of your time clearing out your bookshelves and sending any books that you have read but no longer need to school. These books may be suitable for all ages (from toddlers to adult) and will be donated to the Kwena Basin Community Library, a trust that we have supported for many years. Books may be delivered to Reception. We will also be collecting new or well-loved blankets. Banablankets will be on sale in the pavilion. These blankets are made by an organisation in Alexandra Township, by unemployed women. There will be different sizes available and you were welcome to purchase a blanket and donate it towards our Diepsloot initiative. The Grayston community collected over 700 blankets last year and were able to supply 5 schools in Dieplsoot with much needed warmth.

Lost Property: Damain Welensky has misplaced his Library Folder. His name is clearly marked on the folder. If found please return to reception.

Weekly Prayer Meeting: Takes place every Friday morning from 7:00 to 7:30 in the Library. Anyone is welcome to join.

Outreach Committee: Please start collecting plastic bottle tops and bread tags in your home.  The bottle tops can be any size and any colour. There will be a “post box” in the pavilion, playgrounds, tuck shop and other walkways. Let’s see how many we can collect and give back to people in need.

Public Holiday: Wednesday, 3 August 2016 has been declared a public holiday due to the Elections. Please note that school will be closed.

Grade 6 & 7 Awards: The Grade 6 & Grade 7 Academic and Ad Futura awards will be presented on Friday, 5 August 2016 at 11h00 during the term’s final assembly.
