Junior Prep Notices 13 November 2015

Notices 3Assembly: Please note that there will be no assembly on Wednesday, 18 November due to the exams being written in the hall.

The Grayston Uniform Shop: Will be open tomorrow, Saturday the 14 November 2015 and the following two Saturday’s, 21 November and 28 November, from 08:30 to 12:00 for all uniform shopping. Our normal hours are 7:00 to 9:00 on a Monday to Friday and 12:30 to 14:30 on a Monday to Thursday. The Grayston Uniform Shop now has School shoes and black sandals in stock. Shop for uniforms early to avoid low stock after the holidays.

Aftercare/ Kids Club: Please diarise the 20 November 2015 for the end of year Aftercare/ Kids Club Party, more details to follow. Aftercare/ Kids Club will be closed on Friday, 4 December 2015 and will reopen on Monday, 7 December 2015.

Let the Grade 7 children Wait On You: Please join the Grade 7s at the Spur for their Outreach Fundraising Event. Bring along your family to the Morningside Glen Spur and enjoy a meal with our Grade 7 waiters. All proceeds from each meal will be donated to the school which in turn will be used by by the Outreach Committee for the five schools in Diepsloot. Because this evening is so popular we have split it in two. The 24 November 2015 will be Senior Prep . The 1 December 2015 will be Pre-Prep and Junior Prep.

Tuck-shop: We will be launching our new healthy schools tuck-shop in January 2016. We would like to thank the Lunch Box for their service over the last few years. Should you have any queries regarding this change please feel free to contact Tammy on tammym@graystonprep.co.za.

Library Books: No more library books will be issued this term although the weekly library visit will continue. Please make sure that all library books are returned to school by Friday, 20 November.

Celebration of Me: We extend a cordial invitation to all parents of our Grade One, Grade Two and Grade Three children to join us in celebrating the achievements and unique nature of the children on the evening of Thursday, 26 November at 18:30. It is a compulsory function for all Junior Prep children who should meet in their classrooms at 18:00 wearing their school shorts, golf shirts, white ankle socks and black tackies. Please note that seating in the hall is limited and so we are unable to accommodate grandparents, siblings and other family members. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. Refreshments will be served for the parents and children in the Pavilion after the event which is approximately one hour long.

Grade One and Grade Two Swimming Gala: This will take place on Friday,  27 November at 07:45. The races have been designed to accommodate all children no matter their level of swimming proficiency. Please make sure that the children bring their school costumes, swimming caps and rash vests. Parents are most welcome to come along and support their little ones.

Grade 4 Information Morning: The Grade 3 parents are invited to attend a Gr 4 information morning at 07:30 till 08:30 on Thursday, 19 November in the school pavilion. Mrs McKay will be discussing the transition from the Foundation to the Intermediate phase, as well as what can be expected from a Senior Prep child. The Grade 3 children will be spending the morning with the Grade 4 teachers and will return to their classes after break.

Private extra lessons: Carly Sarembock will be offering extra lessons from 2016 for Grade 1 to Grade 7. Please contact Carly on csarembock@gmail.com or 082 515 5144 for more information.
