Junior Prep Notices 12 February 2016

Thank you: We would like to thank all the families who joined us for the Junior Prep class party last Friday evening. We were fortunate to enjoy lovely weather and the children made the most of the opportunity to play with their friends while their parents relaxed in good company.

Punctuality: Unfortunately, many children are arriving late for school in the mornings. This tardiness is disruptive for the rest of the class and puts the children in question under the spotlight when they enter the classroom after everyone else has settled. These late arrivals are particularly noticeable on Wednesday mornings when they have to enter the hall while assembly is already in progress. We appeal to parents to help their children to develop the courtesy of punctual attendance.

Outreach: Do you know how fortunate we are to get brand-new stationary at the beginning of every year? Just imagine going to school and having to share one pencil between twenty five children! It must be so hard to study without the right equipment. There is so much we can do to help these children.

This term the outreach team will be collecting pencil cases. You will remember last year we all collected used stationary so now we need pencil cases to put it in. If we all do a little bit we can make a big difference! Be sure to bring pencil cases that rulers can fit into. You can drop off your donation in the hall foyer. The pencil cases can be new or used. We would really appreciate it if everyone in the school could bring a pencil case so that we can give to those less fortunate than us.

Just imagine the smile you can put on someones face by just bringing a pencil case! To those who have already brought, well done! Although we would like to pick up the pace!

Condolences: Luca Fortugno on the loss of his granddad and Jivann Naidoo for the loss of his uncle.

Congratulations: To the Mutasa family on the birth of baby brother ,Tendai.

Birthday Books:  We wish all our January babies a very happy birthday and thank them for their donations of books to the school library.

Exeat Weekend: School closes for the midterm break at 12:00 on Thursday, 18 February and the children will return on Tuesday, 23 February at 07:30. We hope that you and your children will enjoy the mini-break and return refreshed for the second half of the Summer Term.

Mid Term Holiday Club: Friday, 19 February 2016 bring your children for a fun day out for Arts and Crafts, a Movie and Ice Cream. On Monday, 22 February 2015 The farmyard will be coming to visit. Attendance for Option 1 aftercare kids is free and for all other Grayston children R140.00.

Car Jamming: An increase in car jamming incidents are taking place in school carparks. We encourage everyone to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings when dropping off and collecting children from school. Please see the link below for an explanation of car jamming:
