DSC_0182Carnival Day: Tomorrow is Carnival Day. Participation in the Interhouse Soccer and Netball is compulsory for all Grade 1 – Grade 7 pupils. Children should please wear their house t-shirts or t-shirts in the colour of their Grayston houses. Soccer players  need to wear Grayston navy shorts, Grayston soccer socks and shin pads. Netball players may wear either Grayston skorts or Grayston navy shorts. The children will need to meet their PE coaches at their respective meeting areas where they will be put into their positions for their matches. There will be plenty of fun and games as well as delicious food on offer for all once the matches have been played.

Reservation of Concert Tickets: Initially FIVE TICKETS will be made available for every family in the Junior Prep. These may be spread out over all three performances or used in a singles batch. You are asked to complete the reservation form (which has been sent home with the children today) indicating for which performance/s you would like these tickets. These reservation forms will be dealt with on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED basis and must be posted into the Ticket Reservation Box in the school Reception area by no later than Thursday 30 June. Please do not attach money to these reservation forms. It should be noted that, if we do not receive a reservation form from you by Thursday 30 June, it will be presumed that you do not wish to make use of the five tickets allocated to you and they will then be made available to other parents. Booking of the seats that you have reserved will open on Tuesday 12 July at 07:00 at Reception. At this stage, you will be able to select the actual seats that you want according to the reservations you have made and pay for them (R50 each). You will also be able to purchase any spare seats which are not needed by other families. The choice of seats and the availability of extra seats will, of course, also be on a first come first served basis. We trust that this procedure will make the booking procedure fair.

Sport: The Soccer matches against Crawford Sandton will take place on Tuesday the 14th of June and not on Wednesday the 15th as the calendar states. The U9, U10 and U11s will play at Grayston Prep and the U12s and Opens will play at Crawford Sandton. Please note that the U12 and Open matches will start at 15h00 and therefore the bus will only leave at 14h00.

Long Weekend: Thursday, 16 June is Youth Day and Friday, 17 June is a school holiday. We hope that you manage to enjoy a little rest and relaxation with your families.

Lost Property: The lost property boxes are overflowing with unclaimed items. We are looking at a new ‘zero tolerance’ policy regarding lost property since we believe that children are being irresponsible about the care of their possessions. This will be communicated to you shortly. In the meanwhile, please claim any lost items from the boxes on the Grade One corridor.

Uniform: Children are please to wear the long-sleeved Grayston shirt this term. They may not wear a short-sleeved shirt with a long-sleeved vest underneath.
