International Children’s Book Day, April 2015

unnamedInternational Children’s Book Day is celebrated to inspire a love of reading and to remember Hans Christian Andersen who made a significant contribution to children’s literature. Hans Christian Andersen was born on the 2nd of April and is best remembered for his fairytales which have been translated into more than 125 languages. Some of his most famous fairytales include

The Little Mermaid, The Snow Queen, The Ugly Duckling, The Nightingale, and The Emperor’s New Clothes, among many others.

It was decided that the best way to celebrate this day would be to hear from the children themselves, talking about their favourite books and characters. Take a moment to watch this video – you will be entertained!
